    i think it means why different people from around the world have been settled where they are.
    this picture is relevant to our inquiry because those people might be finding new land to settle into.

    3. The British had run out of space to put all there convicts. And South America had the war of Independence against the British, so they could claim there land back, and South America weren’t excepting any more convicts.

  8. 1) People have settled in countries for different reasons, having a better life, because they were asked to do so by their governments or armies for various reasons, looking for an adventure or as in the case of Australia with the first settlers, because they were convicts.
    2) That there were different reasons why people moved and settled in different countries. Like India, Sri Lanka (British colonies that had gems and other valuables and were tea and spices could be grown….)
    3)Following the loss of the American Colonies after the American Revolutionary War 1775-1783, Grrat Britain needed to find alternative land for a British Colony. Australia was was chosen for settlement and colonisation began in 1788.
    4)This is a painting of the First Fleet. A name given to eleven ships that left Great Britain from Portsmouth, England, bound for Australia on the 13 th of May 1787. The picture shows two of the eleven ships, the Lady Penrhyn and The Charlotte.

Such as trying to have a better life, because they had to do so because their government or the armies of their home countries sent them there for various reasons, starting a new life due to lots of disappointment and sadness in the past, looking for an adventure or as in the case of Australia, because England had run out of space for it’s population and convicts, so Australia was the ideal place to start anew, with sending the convicts here

    3.The British jails were full of convicts and they had no more room to put them.People in the U.K soon discovered Australia (New Holland).Then they were so glad they found this piece of land and claimed it there and sent convicts over to Australia.
